“In 2008/9 BFC were commissioned
to carry out an Energy Services feasibility study that helped develop
a strategy that guaranteed financial viability and long term security
of both conventional and renewable energy supplies together with a significant
level of practical eco-sustainability. The medium term objective was to
position Taunton School with a lower carbon footprint and look to become
a model exemplar location for sustainable distributed energy."
" The Taunton School study covered the entire schools requirement
for heat, light and power supporting the annual needs of 1,500 staff and
pupils across 24 multi-boiler plants rooms, in addition the future requirements
of running a leading institution were taken into account with several
quantified technical scenarios over short, medium and longer term time
periods."
